Learning comes to life through the execution of the process of art making.
My goal is to create a color pulse and sense of vibration that moves the viewers eye through my work. Compared to cubism by some, I work to make each shape and layer of color equally interesting within my paintings whether it be in the foreground or background. Both positive and negative space are intentionally treated with equal care to enhance the balance within my compositions. It is my goal to continue to grow in my craft and enhance my visual palette; ensuring that what I am attempting to portray and say within my work is clear and relatable to the observer.
My recent bodies of work have been heavily focused on sharing my personal stories with those who see my work. I believe that sharing my experiences is a form of self-therapy. By sharing these moments; others may feel a sense of relatability that creates a connection to the work. While viewing my paintings you may experience laughter, joy, pain, pain, warmth, nostalgia, and a variety of other emotions. I view my work as a journey through self-reflection, discovery, and education. This is a metaphorical growth process that is expressed through paint and the processes I have learned by making art.
